Two locum options are available, depending on skill set.

ECHO reporting mandatory
5 January 2026 to 26 April 2026
Preferably Diagnostic Imaging Cardiologist
Skills required: Echo reporting, ESE/DSE, TOE, cMRI, CTCA

$2,750 per day inclusive of super

The Hospital
Cairns Hospital Cardiac Services includes a 12-bed Cardiac Care Unit, a 12-bed Cardiac Ward, and two dedicated cardiac catheterisation laboratories. The department provides a 24/7 primary PCI service and performs more than 1,500 cath lab procedures each year.
The service covers advanced cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, structural heart interventions, cardiac rehabilitation, heart failure programs, outreach clinics, and cardiac research. The team delivers collaborative, value-based care with a strong focus on improving outcomes for the Far North Queensland community, including First Nations peoples.

Cairns offers a tropical lifestyle with easy access to beaches, rainforest, and the Great Barrier Reef. It suits both short and longer-term locum placements.
