The service supports midwives who are clinically confident, adaptable, and committed to delivering woman-centred care in a regional and remote setting.
Role Details
Position: Midwife
Service: Kalgoorlie Hospital
Dates: Various vacancies from Feb - April
Accommodation: Provided
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based midwifery care across labour ward / birth suite, antenatal, and postnatal settings
- Provide effective newborn care, including Neonatal Resuscitation (NNR)
- Support women and families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary maternity team
- Deliver high-quality, woman-centred care aligned with best practice and clinical governance standards
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA registration as a Midwife
- Recent clinical experience in maternity services
- Competency across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
- Neonatal resuscitation certification (or willingness to obtain)
- FSEP/OFSEP, PROMPT certificates
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a regional health service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
