The Role
Lachlan Health Service Parkes Hospital is seeking a locum doctor to support their Medical Ward. This role covers inpatient care and occasional Emergency Department support.
Shift details:
- Hours: 0800 1700 (onsite)
- Daily face-to-face clinical handover with ED doctors (morning and afternoon)
- Inpatient ward rounds, discharge summaries, and patient reviews
- Hospital in the Home and postoperative care
- Rapid response and trauma/cardiac arrest participation
- Occasional ED support during busy periods or ED doctor meal breaks
- Surgical assistance when required
- Training and supervision of students and junior medical officers
Key Requirements
- Medical Degree (minimum PGY3)
- Advanced Life Support Level 1 (within last 3 years)
- Completion of NSW Health and HETI Locum Mandatory Training Modules, including:
- Adult Basic Life Support
- Between the Flags Tier 1
- Fire Safety, Infection Control, PPE
- Open Disclosure and Privacy Training
- Violence Prevention and Management
- eMeds HETI modules
- Registration with an accredited Home CPD
Travel & Accommodation
- Travel: Organised by agency (hire car and flights with WNSWLHD approval)
- Accommodation: Provided by the facility; details confirmed upon booking
