Whether your passion lies in the high-acuity, deeply rewarding environment of Labour & Delivery, providing specialized developmental care within the Special Care Nursery (SCN), or mentoring new parents through their recovery and lactation journey on the Pre & Postnatal Wards, this facility offers a supportive platform tailored to your specific clinical passion.

Working within a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of specialist obstetricians, neonatologists, and senior clinicians, you will enjoy a workplace culture that truly champions midwifery excellence, clinical safety, and family-centered care.

Labour & Delivery (Birth Suite): Support women through both low-risk natural births and complex obstetric journeys, managing active birth preferences and emergency protocols.

Special Care Nursery (SCN): Deliver high-quality surveillance and clinical care for premature infants (from 32 weeks) and newborns requiring acute medical or respiratory support.

Pre & Postnatal Ward: Formulate continuity of care plans, conduct maternal/newborn assessments, and provide essential lactation support and discharge education.

Clinical Track Record: Minimum 1224 months of recent, dedicated experience in an acute hospital maternity setting.

Advanced Capabilities: Strong clinical assessment skills specific to your chosen track (e.g., CTG interpretation, neonatal resuscitation, or breastfeeding management).

Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication with a compassionate, reassuring bedside manner that empowers families during major life milestones.

The Perks & Rewards

The Newcastle Lifestyle: Live and work moments away from world-class surf beaches, pristine coastal walks, and a thriving culinary scene, completely avoiding metropolitan gridlock.

Professional Mastery: Access extensive clinical education, funded study days, advanced clinical certifications, and clear pathways into leadership or MGP.

Healthy Balance: Benefit from highly collaborative, fair shift configurations designed to protect your personal time and prevent burnout.
