The PACU department acts as the vital bridge between surgery and ward transfer. Your Core Impact
Acute Post-Op Monitoring: Deliver exceptional one-on-one care to patients emerging from general, regional, or local anaesthesia.
Airway & Stability Management: Maintain precise control over patient airways, hemodynamic monitoring, and early detection of post-operative complications.
Advanced Pain Titration: Assess and safely manage acute post-operative pain and nausea using advanced pharmacological interventions.
Seamless Handovers: Ensure strict clinical safety and patient comfort guidelines are met before coordinating safe transfer to the wards or day units.
Your Background Checklist
AHPRA Credentials: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Recovery Experience: Minimum 1224 months of recent experience in an acute hospital PACU, HDU, or intensive care setting.
Critical Skill Set: Proven competence in advanced airway management, ECG interpretation, and acute post-operative clinical protocols.
Communication Focus: The ability to communicate with high clarity and speed under pressure while maintaining a calm, reassuring bedside manner for patients.
