About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced perioperative nurse looking to secure a permanent theatre role within one of Western Sydneys fastest-growing medical hubs? A premier private hospital facility in Kingswood is expanding its surgical services and seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join their high-performing theatre team as a Scrub Scout.

Following a massive, multi-million dollar expansion, this flagship facility boasts a suite of cutting-edge operating theatres, a hybrid theatre, and an advanced endoscopy unit. The department services a highly diverse and interesting surgical case-mix, including advanced orthopaedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, and plastics.

Working alongside a collaborative, friendly team of specialist surgeons, anaesthetists, and senior perioperative clinicians, you will have the perfect environment to keep your skills sharp, take on complex cases, and enjoy a genuinely supportive workplace culture.


Your Daily Focus

Intraoperative Excellence: Perform expert scrub and scout duties across a wide variety of elective and emergency surgical specialties.

Surgical Anticipation: Work closely with the surgical team to anticipate instrument, equipment, and consumable requirements, ensuring seamless intraoperative workflows.

Sterile Field Integrity: Maintain absolute adherence to aseptic techniques, infection control standards, and ACORN guidelines.

Safety & Documentation: Act as a strong patient advocate, ensuring precise count protocols, equipment checks, and meticulous surgical documentation.


The Requirements Checklist

AHPRA Credentials: Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.

Theatre Background: Minimum 1224 months of recent experience working as a Scrub Scout in an acute hospital theatre setting.

Specialty Exposure: Proven competence across multiple surgical specialties (experience with orthopaedic or neurosurgical instrumentation is highly regarded).

Dynamic Team Fit: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
