Key Responsibilities
- Perform expert scrub and scout duties specifically for adult cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the precise needs of the surgical team, ensuring all specialized cardiac instrumentation, bypass equipment setups, and consumables are prepared and ready.
- Maintain impeccable infection control and aseptic standards within high-stakes environments.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the broader theatre team, perfusionists, and anaesthetists to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
Key Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience working as a Scrub Scout in an acute theatre environment, with a proven track record or dedicated focus in Cardiothoracic surgery.
- Deep understanding of specialized cardiac instrumentation, equipment, and complex thoracic surgical workflows.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure, remaining calm, focused, and decisive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.
