Key Responsibilities

  • Perform both scrub and scout duties across a diverse mix of surgical cases (including orthopaedics, general, plastics, urology, and gynaecology).
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and consumables are prepared and ready.
  • Maintain impeccable infection control standards and comply with all national safety and quality health service standards.
  • Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative journey.

Key Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 1224 months of recent experience working as a Scrub Scout in an acute hospital theatre environment.
  • Proven competence across multiple surgical specialties (experience in high-volume or complex specialties is highly regarded).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
