Verus People is proud to partner with a highly regarded private hospital in Newcastle to recruit passionate and dedicated nursing professionals. We are currently seeking Anesthetic Nurses and Scrub Scout Nurses to join their growing perioperative team.
Anesthetic Nurse Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating environment and equipment for each patient
- Set up equipment required for anaesthetic administration
- Receive patients into the operating room, establishing rapport and ensuring identification and consent are correct
- Communicate relevant patient information to the intra-operative team
- Assist with intra-operative patient monitoring, ensuring safety, comfort, and warmth
- Support the anaesthetist throughout the procedure and during patient emergence from anaesthesia
Scrub Scout Nurse Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the activities of the operating room to ensure smooth workflow
- Implement the nursing plan of care and supply the sterile team as required
- Advocate for patient safety and maintain a safe, controlled environment
- Undertake and document counts of all accountable items with the instrument nurse
- Monitor the intra-operative environment and uphold aseptic principles using strong surgical conscience
Essential Criteria
- 23 years experience in Anaesthetics or Scrub Scout nursing
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
