Remote Area Nursing $1,000 Education Allowance


Terms & Conditions


1. Promoter


The promoter is Nurse Recruitment Pty Ltd, trading as Verus People Nursing.

 

2. Offer


Eligible new Remote Area Nursing candidates may claim reimbursement of up to $1,000 AUD for approved education and professional development expenses.

 

This is a reimbursement allowance. It is not an automatic payment, wage entitlement or payment in advance.

 

3. Campaign period


The offer opens at 12:00am AEST on 1 September 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEDT on 30 November 2026.

The nurse must commence an eligible Remote Area Nursing contract during this period.

 

4. Eligibility


To qualify, the nurse must:

  • be a new candidate of Verus People Nursing;
  • commence a Remote Area Nursing contract arranged by Verus People Nursing between 1 September and 30 November 2026;
  • be engaged as an on-hire employee through Verus People Nursing;
  • remain registered, credentialled and compliant;
  • complete at least twelve weeks of work through Verus People Nursing during the 2026/27 financial year;
  • obtain written approval for the education expense before enrolling, purchasing or incurring the expense;
  • complete the approved activity, where applicable; and
  • submit a complete claim by 31 March 2027.

 

5. Meaning of new candidate


For this offer, a new candidate is a person who had not previously commenced paid work through Verus People Nursing before 1 September 2026.

 

Existing candidates are not eligible for this campaign-specific increase.

 

6. Twelve-week requirement


The nurse must complete at least twelve weeks of verified work through Verus People Nursing during the period from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

 

The twelve weeks may be completed across more than one placement and do not need to be consecutive, provided all work is completed through Verus People Nursing.

 

Only completed and verified work counts towards eligibility.

 

7. Prior approval


The nurse must obtain written approval from their Verus People Nursing recruitment or compliance consultant before incurring the expense.

Approval may consider:

  • relevance to the nurse’s current role or professional practice;
  • whether the training supports the maintenance, refreshment or development of relevant skills;
  • the provider and course content;
  • available allowance funding; and
  • whether the expense is already funded elsewhere.

Prior approval does not remove the requirement to complete twelve weeks of eligible work or submit valid evidence.

 

8. Eligible expenses


Subject to prior written approval, eligible expenses may include:

  • clinical courses;
  • Remote Area Nursing education;
  • continuing professional development activities;
  • conferences, workshops and seminars;
  • relevant certifications or recertifications;
  • approved education resources; and
  • other training directly relevant to the nurse’s professional practice.


9. Excluded expenses


Unless expressly approved in writing, the following are not eligible:

  • travel, accommodation or meals;
  • general professional membership fees;
  • registration or licensing fees;
  • computers, tablets, phones or other equipment;
  • clothing or personal items;
  • fines, penalties or late fees;
  • courses unrelated to the nurse’s professional practice;
  • incomplete or failed education activities;
  • expenses incurred before written approval;
  • expenses paid or reimbursed by another organisation; or
  • amounts claimed under another Verus People allowance.


10. Allowance limit


The maximum reimbursement is $1,000 AUD per eligible nurse under this campaign.

 

Where approved expenses total less than $1,000, only the amount actually paid will be reimbursed.

The unused balance cannot be paid in cash, transferred, carried forward or exchanged for another benefit.

 

11. Supporting documentation


A complete claim must include:

  • the approval provided by Verus People Nursing;
  • an itemised tax invoice or receipt;
  • evidence of payment;
  • evidence of completion, attendance or purchase, as applicable;
  • any declaration reasonably required for payroll or taxation purposes; and
  • any other information reasonably required to verify eligibility.


12. Submission deadline


All eligibility requirements and required documentation must be completed and received by Verus People Nursing no later than 11:59pm AEDT on 30 June 2027.

 

If the nurse has not completed twelve weeks of eligible work by that date, the campaign-specific allowance will not be payable.

 

13. Assessment and payment


Verus People Nursing will verify completed weeks, prior approval and supporting documentation before approving reimbursement.

Approved reimbursement will be paid into the nurse’s nominated account or using another payment method advised by Verus People Nursing.

 

Any taxation, withholding or reporting requirements imposed by law may apply.

 

14. No duplicate reimbursement


The same expense cannot be reimbursed under this allowance and another employer, client, government, taxation or Verus People program.

If part of an expense has been paid elsewhere, only the remaining eligible amount may be considered.

 

15. Cancellation or interruption of work


If a placement is cancelled or interrupted, only work actually completed and verified will count towards the twelve-week requirement.

Verus People Nursing may consider exceptional circumstances reasonably and consistently, but this does not guarantee reimbursement where the twelve-week requirement has not been met.

 

16. False or misleading claims


Verus People Nursing may reject a claim where information or documentation is false, altered, duplicated, incomplete or misleading.

Incorrect payments may be recovered to the extent permitted by law.

 

17. Changes or withdrawal


Verus People Nursing may amend, suspend or withdraw the offer where reasonably necessary.

 

A change will not affect an expense already approved and validly incurred by a nurse who had satisfied the applicable eligibility conditions before the change.

 

18. Privacy


Personal information will be used to assess, verify and pay claims, maintain training and compliance records and administer the allowance. Information will be handled in accordance with the Verus People Privacy Policy.

 

19. Liability and consumer rights


Participation in education or training does not guarantee a placement, particular work, advancement, registration outcome or professional accreditation.

 

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right, guarantee or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.

 

20. Governing law


These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Participants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
